Abstract

|
1. In the contractile state of the isolated rabbit jejunum preparation produced by physostigmine, neostigmine, acetylcholine, carbamylcholine, methacholine, urecholine, pilocarpine, muscarine, histamine, prostaglandin, potassium, barium and DMPP, relaxant effect of McN-A-343 was examined.
2. In the contractile state of the preparation by physostigmine, neostigmine,: acetylcholine,, carbamylcholine, methacholine, . urecholine, pilocarpine and muscarine, McN-A-343 produced relaxant responses.
3. In the contractile state of the preparation by histamine, prostaglandin, potassium, barium and DMPP, McN-A-343 did not produce relaxant responses.
4. The above results suggest that McN-A-343 produces relaxant effect on the isolated rabbit jejunum when the muscarinic receptors were previously, occupied by other agents,.
